Lifting Beams
Runway Beams
Why load test your beam?

A beam load test can be required for one of the following reasons:
-
When a new beam is installed

-
If a beam or the supporting structure has undergone any substantial alteration or repair
-
If a beam has been out of service for a period of time
-
If during a thorough examination (required by LOLER at regular intervals) a possible defect is identified

Before being subjected to any loading, beams should be proof tested to ensure the beam and the supporting structure can withstand it’s designed load plus an additional proof factor.

After successful completion of the testing and inspection, we will mark the beam with its SWL (safe working load) and a unique identification number. A certificate of test and thorough examination will be provided, ensuring your full compliance .

We test in accordance with the following Standards and guidance:

-
BS 2853:2011 Specification for the testing of steel overhead runway beams for hoist blocks
-
Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)
